Sarti is a large village with 1,157 inhabitants on the edge of the Sithonia peninsula of Halkidiki. It is a municipal district with the same name and with a unique settlement situated. The main occupations of the inhabitants are tourism, as well as agriculture and fisheries. Each year many tourists visit this resort and enjoy the sun and sea. Every year the village celebrates the Virgin Mary, on 15 August (the church of the Assumption) and has fireworks at the beach. The beach was awarded in 2004-2005 from the website "thalassa.gr" as one of the 10 best beaches in Greece. Many tourists prefer the beach Kavourotripes and Orange or Portoka-port. The distance of the settlement from Thessaloniki is around 140 kilometers. It is surrounded by the mountain known as the Dragontelis.
